Independent fan site. Coopers Fans is operated by community enthusiasts. This website is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Coopers Brewery Limited, Coopers Brewery Pty Ltd, or the official Coopers DIY Beer website. “Coopers” and related marks are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe compatible homebrew products and publicly available recipe information.
By accessing or using Coopers Fans (“the Site”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About the service
Coopers Fans is a free community tool for browsing, filtering, and sharing homebrew recipe information. The Site may include recipe summaries sourced from publicly available Coopers DIY Beer content, member-created recipe variations, ratings, and comments. We do not sell beer, brewing equipment, or ingredients.
2. Eligibility
The Site contains information about alcoholic beverages and homebrewing. You must be at least 18 years of age (or the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Site. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement and that homebrewing is lawful where you live.
3. Accounts
If you create a member account, you agree to:
- provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date;
- keep your password confidential and notify us if you suspect unauthorised access;
- accept responsibility for activity that occurs under your account; and
- not create accounts for others without permission or use the Site for spam or abuse.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or legal risk.
4. User content
Members may submit recipes, brew notes, ratings, and comments (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it on the Site for the purpose of operating the community features you use (for example, sharing a recipe with other members).
You agree that your User Content will not:
- infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person;
- be unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or misleading;
- contain malware, spam, or unauthorised advertising; or
- misrepresent your relationship with Coopers Brewery or any other company.
We may remove User Content that violates these terms or applicable law. We are not obliged to monitor all User Content but may do so at our discretion.
5. Recipe and product information
Recipe data, ingredient lists, ABV figures, and similar information are provided for general interest and convenience only. They may be incomplete, outdated, or adapted by members. Always follow official product labels, local laws, and safe brewing practices. Purchases of Coopers products should be made through official retailers or the Coopers DIY Beer website.
6. Intellectual property
The Site’s layout, branding (excluding third-party trademarks), and original code are owned by the Site operators or their licensors. Recipe text and images originating from Coopers DIY Beer remain subject to the rights of their respective owners. Links to official Coopers pages are provided where appropriate.
You must not scrape, bulk-download, or republish substantial parts of the Site in a way that competes with or replaces this service, except where permitted by law or with our written consent.
7. Third-party links and services
The Site links to external websites (including Coopers DIY Beer). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
8. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of brewing outcomes.
Homebrewing involves food safety, fermentation, and alcohol-related risks. You are solely responsible for your brewing activities, equipment, sanitation, and compliance with applicable laws. Nothing on the Site constitutes professional, legal, or health advice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (including the Australian Consumer Law where it applies), we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any content. Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited, at our option, to resupplying the relevant services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Site operators from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your User Content, or your misuse of the Site, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia for disputes relating to the Site, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights you may have under local law.
